Introduction to the building energy consumptions and future predictions, steps to conduct the surveys of the existing buildings to determine the energy consumption patterns, various areas of interventions, controllers for light, HVAC and other motor based loads, thermal management of the buildings by the use of phase change materials, renewable energy based power generation in buildings for reduction of external power demand, demand response, optimal resource and load management for smart buildings. Application of IoT for smart buildings management system, effect of facade design in old and new buildings. Ancillary services, and concept of peer to peer sharing in buildings. Other aspects like thermal comfort, indoor air quality etc. for buildings.
